About bag limits: Weekly allowances are counted in standard kitchen-size trash bags (about 13 gallons). Recycling bags don't count toward your trash allowance, but recycling must be separated from regular trash.

Mandatory recycling policy

At Black Bear Trash Removal, we collect both your household trash and your recyclables. All we ask is that you separate recyclable materials from regular trash and place them in a separate bag for collection.
Recycling is required for every customer on every plan. It keeps our mountain towns cleaner and our service affordable.

Keep recyclables out of your trash and put them in their own bag next to your trash bags. We take both.

If recycling isn't separated, we'll leave a note explaining what to fix. No penalty, just guidance.

Good to know
What counts as a "standard kitchen bag"?
A typical tall kitchen trash bag, around 13 gallons. If you use larger contractor bags, let us know and we'll help you pick the right tier.
What if I go over my bag limit one week?
It happens, especially around holidays. Reach out and we'll work with you. If you're regularly over, we'll suggest moving to the next tier.
How does billing work?
After we confirm your address, we email you a secure Stripe payment link. You enroll once and your card or debit card is charged automatically each month. Receipts are emailed to you every time.
Do I have to recycle?
Yes. Recycling is required for all customers. Just bag recyclables separately from your trash. If there's an issue, you'll get one friendly warning with guidance before anything else happens.
What day is pickup?
Each town has a set weekly pickup day, confirmed when you sign up. Please have bags at the curb by 7 AM.
What about holidays and storms?
If a holiday or severe weather affects your pickup, we'll email you the evening before with the make-up day. Customers can also add their pickup schedule to their phone calendar, and it updates automatically.
What if my pickup is missed?
Let us know the same day through our contact form (choose "Missed pickup") and we'll make it right.
Can I get an extra or bulk pickup?
Yes! Book an extra-bag or bulk-item pickup online. Choose a date and pay securely.
Can I change plans later?
Of course. Contact us and we'll switch your tier starting with your next billing cycle.
